I've used copy/paste for years, and suddenly it won't work. When I highlight text and then press Cntrl/C, nothing happens. Any ideas? My computer is an emachine I'm using Windows XP 2nd edition

Thanks for any help,

Can you copy/paste with your mouse, it's just the keyboard command not working?

In IE tools>options>security>custom level and under miscellaneous see if "Drag and drop or copy and paste files is checked">

Sometimes I get problems with the copy/paste feature and this is how I clear them up:

1) Go to: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ and look for clipbrd.exe.

2) WHEN YOU FIND IT, Right click it and choose "Send to" and "Desktop: Create Shortcut"

3) Close the window you're in, and find the shortcut on your desktop.

4) OPTIONAL: Right click and drag the shortcut to clipbrd.exe (clipboard) to your
Quick Launch bar, and choose "Move here". It just makes it more accessible.

Now that you have that done, whenever your copy/paste isn't working right,

5) Open up clipboard (using the shortcut on your desktop or Quick Launch bar
if that's where you put it) and delete the contents of the clipboard.

This works for me because sometimes I use copy/paste so much, it's like the clipboard can't
keep up or something. Once I clear it and try again, it usually works.

Hope this helps!

I can confirm that. I've had to clear my clipboard a few times.

Thanks for the shortcut tip! There are little applications to "show" the clipboard, they usually put it in the control panel, but this is better.
