how do I get firefox off of safe mode? I can' set a homepage or anything

Have a look through this Firefox article called Safe Mode.

From the Window called Firefox Safe Mode you can choose to Continue in Safe Mode or Exit.
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.
