Hp Laptop Problem

hey guys, so i have a question. this morning one of my friends knocked a bottle of water and soaked the base of my laptop. now, the touchpad has stopped working. i've attached a mouse for the time being but is there any way to regain control of the touchpad? thanks!

Set it upside down on top of a towel overnight. Maybe try a can of compress air or a hair drier set on cool. Be happy it wasn't coffee w/cream and sugar or a pop

yes but the store i bought extended warranty from is now out of business lol. i'm storing/working on some very important files on it so i'd rather that i adapt to an unworking mousepad rather than switch to a new one, at least until december.

Is it under warranty ?

Wouldn't really matter, no laptop manufacturer warranty I've seen would ever fill a repair claim once they found out it was due to a liquid spill. Most extended and third party warranties won't touch it, either.
