Please help! My roommates computer started popping up with a error window on startup, and since it has started, he has not been able to access the internet. The error has something to do with a missing newdotnet dll file of some sort. I search for it on the internet, and found several ways that were supposed to fix the problem, but they have all been unsuccessful. I tried a system restore to get to a point prior to this problem, but that has proven unsuccessful also. I have included a HijackThis log from his desktop. Please help in any way possible. Thank you!

Hi karajf.
A couple things to do please,

Click the following programs, Save them to a floppy and carry them over to the infected computer,

First,
Click here New.Net removal tool. Run the tool,
Reboot the computer,

Next,
Download this LSPFix unzip it to your Desktop,

Please run the LSP-Fix program , and click on the finish button. Reboot and see if you can get back online.

Next,
Download CWShredder from the below link and unzip it into a directory. Start CWShredder and click on the FIx button to have it remove all CWS infections it finds.

Download CWShredder from one of the following sites:

CWShredder Download Site

After you download the program, unzip it into a directory. Make sure all browser windows are closed and double click on the cwshredder.exe to start the program. When the program is loaded click on the "Check for Update" button, and if it finds an new version it will download it. You should then double click on cwshredder.exe again and click on the "FIX" button (not the "Scan only" button) and let it scan your computer.

To get the best results it is recommended that you run it in safe mode. Reboot windows and press F8 at boot/windows startup, usually right after the beep. Then select safe mode.

A tutorial that goes over this process step by step can be found here:

How to remove CoolWebSearch with CWShredder

Please post back a fresh log when done with the above please
