Hi, I need help. A few days ago, I started getting alot of popups saying my computer is infected with a certain virus and please download this to get rid of it. I have a trial of norton antivirus 360 on my computer and it says I'm clean. I noticed that in the IE popups that there was a security toolbar 7.1 which I never downloaded. After googling it, I realize it's something I need to get rid of it but I don't know how. I read some websites telling me to download hijack this, but I don't know what to do after downloading it. Please help! The pop ups seem to be increasing in frequency!

Use the Smitfraudfix tool in the link below. Read and follow the directions closely.

Follow up with scans using the programs in the links below.

Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Please let us know the results.

Glad to of helped. You are welcome.
Some of your restore points are infected. You should remove ALL restore points and set a new one. See info in tutorial below if you need instruction on how to do that.
