I've been to the site and receive newsletters from Tech Republic. One newsletter offers downloads and XP fixes/tweaks that I'm tempted to try. Although I'm in the middle of a FF/malware problem right now, when fixed I'd like to use some of the ideas. What is known about the site? Anyone here a member there? How do I know if the software is good?

You could always post the suggestions here.
If any of our members have any experience with the software, they'll be able to help you out.

You could also Google the software, for known problems (software name+problems).
