its been runnin slow an di have a lot of bs on it so i want to wipe it all out. Problem is i dont have the original windows xp discs, though i bout it from dell so i have the product key and etc labeled on my comp. Could i get a disc and pop that in and would it work?

so basically how to i reinstall windows xp with no cd?

Okay, you should be able to just pop in any ol' XP CD and it should work, because I had to do it. Just to be on the safe side, you should use the XP CD that matches your installation.

As for straight-up reinstalling without a CD, I don't know how to go about doing that.

Dells are sold with a restore partition instead of the XP CD. If you use an XP disk you will wipe out the partition and you will also have to hunt down the drivers for your particular model
