I have a problem with my laptop. All my taskbar and icon at the desktop has lost, is it because i have install AVG antivirus? I have install that, and once completed it scan my laptop and they found a virus and it ask me whether i want to move the virus to the virus vault so i click "Yes" and suddenly all my taskbar and icon at the desktop lost. Has it got do to with the installation of the AVG of is because of the virus. I can't do anything except looking at my desktop wallpaper.....Should i reformat my laptop???

Can you get into safe mode? If so, choose "last known good configuration"

Here is some advice found on the web. Hopefully, someone with more info on this will respond.

Try hitting the Windows button on your keyboard & see if the start menu comes up. If so you can access everything.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you are getting this issue, and have sbcglobal software, try going into task manager, and go file>new task>msconfig>and uncheck ipmon32 in start up,if that fails to work, system restore
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

insert the Win CD & restart your computer and choose Repair
maybe some of your system files got deleted or infected by a virus
