Hi
I posted on here before, on how my computer will lockup randomly when i'm running basic stuff like MSN messenger. What I noticed is that when i right-click on My computer and click Properties, it shows my stats: Intel Pentium M processor 1.73 ghz, 1.73 ghz and 1.99 gb of ram. I noticed when my computer locks up and i check the property again, it'll be running at about 1.00 ghz. Is this supposed to change? I think my computers been acting like this since I updated to Service Pack 2.
Also, whenever it locks up, i pull up Task manager and my CPU's going berserk running at 100% when im barely running anything. please help! or else i might try Vista out!!

It sounds like you have an infection. What is the name of the process in the Task Manager that is running the highest %?

Is this a desktop or a laptop? If a laptop, does this change if the power cord is plugged in?
When you updated to SP2 did you scan your system for viruses/malware?
When you updated to SP2 did you update your device drivers to SP2 compatible versions?
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

While in Task Manager, you might also want to check the "show processes from all users" option.
