Hi there. I hope someone can help, so i'll jump right in. Yesterday I got the trojan- VirusProtectPro. During my attempts to remove it I came across your site and downloaded the Smitfraud, and FixVPP. Well it succeeded in removing VPP (I think), but I am still getting these pop-ups (clearly malware caused). I've run Spybot, AdAware, and even my Symantic and find nothing. However, when running the online Housecall Trendmicro scan it finds what it calls Agent.YIF. I have determined it is a file called _c00F38D3.dat in my System32 folder. I tried deleting it but get the "access denied, being used by another application" message. I even tried in safemode and still can't remove it. I believe this must be something leftover or downloaded by VPP, but can't figure how to get rid of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I did try to search symantic for additional virus info but they didn't have any. Oh yea, I'm running Windows XP home edition.

Thanks again for anyhelp
Cyber

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum CyberSurfer409
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt unless I ask.

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.

*Note*
Post all reports/logs directly into this topic, not as attachments, thanks.
