Hello

I'm new to these forums and really appreciate the help people who seem willing to give to the very computer un-savvy people like me

Yesterday i downloaded a program called 'MessengerDiscovery Live" It has a few extra features for MSN Messenger. I started getting pop-ups in Internet Explorer, when the browser wasn't even open (I use Firefox). It also kept freezing MSN Messenger, so i decided to remove it using add/remove programs.

On removal a little error message came up, i'm sorry i can't remember exactly, something about not being able to find the loader.exe file, and that some files were still there. Now i can't sing into MSN Messenger anymore. I completely uninstalled and removed MSN Messenger, and downloaded and installed it again, but i'm having the same problem.

Whenever i start my computer the error message about the loader.exe file not being found and that it may have been renamed. As soon as i attempt to log on to MSN Messenger it fails

I went to system restore and took it back a couple of days, but this didn't help :flowers:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Loader.exe can be a legitimate file or a Trojan. However, I am finding lots of reports about it when trying to remove Messenger Discovery. The MDL Support forum has instructions: "Removing MDL Completely".

Just to be safe, you should perform a scan with your anti-virus and any anti-malware programs. If you don't have any anti-virus or anti-malware programs see BC's List of Virus & Malware Resources and at least scan with Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D. In #4 there is a list of several free online anti-virus scans which you can perform. I would also recommend that you download and scan with SUPERAntiSpyware Free for Home Users in "SAFE MODE".
