Okay, so I bought a case for my HDD, I'm able to hook it up to my PC and copy/paste files off of it, it shows up fine.
The laptop that isn't showing the drive has USB 1 ports I'm able to plug my flash drive into the same port and copy/paste files off of it. The laptop has a dualboot, and Ubuntu shows the HDD, and copy/pastes fine. So I think it has something to do with this copy of XP. It's a fresh install and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any malware. Thanks in advance.

It shows up in Device Manager as USB Mass Storage Device, I go into properties and it says "This device is working properly"
It doesn't show up in My Computer.

Try going into Disk Management (Start...Run...type in "diskmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter). See if there's any other device with the same drive letter as the HD - if so, change the drive letter for the hard drive and reboot to see it.

This is (IMO) an issue with the USB naming convention - but the fix that it would take would likely reduce the ability of your PC to recognize new devices - and would restrict the availability of drive letter designations. With the proliferation of USB device the need for additional drive letters can become crucial.

Glad you sorted it out tho'! And thanks for letting us know!
