Usually everytime I come on here its because my computer is broken. Feels good...

But yeah the backlight to my laptop (HP Pavilion ze4900) is way too bright.
And it seriously is making me blind when I use it at night. On my Sony Viao
it had a button to dim the backlight, but I can't find it for this one?

So am I just not seeing it, or is it just cheap and cant dim the light?

I think that if you press Fn+F1 this will dim the screen, and Fn+F2 will brighten it.

I have an HP Pavilion and on mine it is fn+f7 to dim ,fn+f8 to raise. Hope this helps. Otherwise do a web search for your particular model and look for keyboard layout.

Just to add, my Dell uses a different backlight brightness when it's on batteries. By default it dims about 3 settings when I unplug it. This setting can be changed, too.
