Virus Scanner Logs

I notice in some virus scanners there is hundreds of entrys that say "Delete Wrong Pointer" and im pretty sure they have something to do with programs.Are these like temp files or something? Can they be deleted if the are unnecessary and taking up space? Just curious..................
