Currently my computer is infected by this Tojan that "alerts" that there is potential spyware operation (also the small yellow triangle with the "!" in the middle). These were the first symtoms, but now I cannot since yesterday I cannot see the Control Panel. It was also redirecting my browser to other sites.

It is very similar to this persons problems but the yellow exclamation mark would take me to a different site that wanted me to buy there anti-spyware.

other persons problem

After doing all the things I was supposed to before posting a hijack log it appears the yellow exclamation mark is gone but my control panel is missing and I can't change my screen size etc as it says I don't have permission.

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum Huntster :thumbsup:
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Before i can provide you with any further assistance,you first need to go here and install Service Pack 1a;
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...p1/default.mspx
This will patch numerous security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer and the Windows operating system.
As your machine stands right now it's exremely vulnerable to infection.
You need to get these updates installed first before we can proceed or we’ll both be wasting our time.

Do not install Service Pack 2.
If you install SP 2 on an infected machine it will cause serious problems within the operating system.

Once you've got SP1a installed,post a new Hijackthis log into your next reply.

Hi Richie, thanks for helping.

I tried to get the update you provided a link for but it says that a network policy is preventing me from doing so.

Network policy settings prevent you from using this website to get updates for your computer.

Can I get the update another way?

edit: I think I was able to get the service pack from another site. Here is the new log after installing (I think it installed properly)
