Occasionally I'll get a message that says Windows Explorer has quit working? Then it searches for a solution and then restarts it. I have never seen this in any previous versions of Windows. Is there an way to prevent this? It happens sometimes in other software too.

Go to Event viewer and see what the error is in there or post the error message and the event id.
