Yesterday I downloaded Kaspersky AV and after the initial scan was done this morning my XP sp2 started going a little crazy and now when i log in i only see my background, cursor, and can access the task manager. No icons or start menu. Safe mode only brings a blank black screen. Since I don't really have the materials to reinstall, i'm set on recovery. I have a external hard drive w/ the whole computer backed up w/ norton ghost and another recovery file, this one only 12gigs, that the computer had me do when i first got it. Problem is I cannot figure out how I can recover and/or start over. Any help would be great. Thanks
