This commonly happens when using the Disk Cleanup wizard or other similar tools. They'll delete .log files automatically. Then, when the uninstall program needs to read the file (for directions on what to uninstall) - it isn't there! So the uninstaller quits because it can't work without it. As TMacK suggests, a reinstall will generally recreate the log files (but not always) and will enable you to uninstall the program.
