I am having a problem with Explorer automatically redirecting me to web sites and some of the programs I have on my computer will not open. I tried to run all the scans suggested in the start here menu on your web site and got the following Spybot results Drive Cleaner 2006, Virtumonde, and Webtrends Live. I then rebooted the system in normal mode with Spybot running at starup but the problems still exist. I am now running in safe mode with internet access. Here is the HijackThis log if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Hi there and welcome to BC.
You definately have some problems and I'd be happy to help you fix them.
Firstly, can you boot into normal mode and save a Hijackthis log in normal mode.
Then please post that log back here.

Hello there and welcome to Bleeping Computer's security forum.
My name is David, I will be helping you with your log today.
Unfortunately we've got some infections finding from the Hijackthis scan..

It is a good idea to print off these instructions. There is a possibility some of the instructions will need to be carried out where internet access is not available. It is important that you complete the instructions in the right order, and that you don't miss out any steps.

Please set your system to show all files.
Click Start, open My Computer, select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.

Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following if still present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ipet] C:\WINDOWS\ipet.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SystemOptimizer] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\vcahgtqp.dll",forkonce
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Lfe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\rxrte.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [DDC] C:\WINDOWS\system32\vmldpmci.exe
O16 - DPF: {B942A249-D1E7-4C11-98AE-FCB76B08747F} (RealArcadeRdxIE Class) - http://games-dl.real.com/gameconsole/Bundl...ArcadeRdxIE.cab
O23 - Service: DomainService - - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vmldpmci.exe

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

Now reboot into Safe Mode.
This can be done tapping the F8 key as soon as you start your computer
You will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode.
Make sure you choose the option without networking support.

Using Windows Explorer, please locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\ipet.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\rxrte.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vmldpmci.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vcahgtqp.dll

I want you to clean your cache and cookies from your internet explorer.
There are a few infected files which need to be removed from your system.

Close all instances of Internet Explorer .
Go to your control panel and open "Internet Options".
Click on the "General" tab.
Click the "Delete Cookies" button, then the "Delete Files" button.
If prompted, place a tick in the "Delete all offline content" box and click OK.

Also, please clean other Temporary files and Empty the Recycle Bin

Go to start and click on the "run" button.
Type the following in the box --> cleanmgr and click ok.
Let it scan your system for files to remove.
Make sure only Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are checked.
Press OK to remove them.

Reboot back into normal mode.

Please click on start > run > and type: sc stop "DomainService "
Hit enter and let the DOS windows open and close. This is normal.

Please do the same for this command: sc delete "DomainService "

Go to the folder where Hijackthis is kept and rename the hijackthis application to "showme".
This can be done by right clicking on the program and clicking "rename", press enter.

Please download Combofix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combofix.exe to launch the application.

Follow the prompts that will be displayed on the screen.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.
When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt.
Post this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

I followed your directions and I don't know if this is important or not but when I boot the system in safe mode without networking I only get a black screen. I was able to locate smldpmci.exe with windows task manager. I also got an error message "Exception Processing Message C0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c ..." and when I rebooted in normal mode I got tthe following error message "Error loadong C:\WINDOWS\saystem32\vcahgtqp.dll the specific module could not be found.

Good work! Let's continue..

I see you are running Teatimer.
I suggest you to disable it because it can interfere with the changes you'll make on your system.
When everything is done and your log is clean again, you can enable it again.
If teatimer gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow this instead of blocking it.
How to disable TeaTimer during HijackThis Cleanup
Then, Download ResetTeaTimer.bat.
Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by TeaTimer.

Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following if still present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ipet] C:\WINDOWS\ipet.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SystemOptimizer] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\vcahgtqp.dll",forkonce
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Lfe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\rxrte.exe
O20 - Winlogon Notify: wvuuurq - wvuuurq.dll (file missing)

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

Now reboot into Safe Mode.
This can be done tapping the F8 key as soon as you start your computer
You will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode.
Make sure you choose the option without networking support.

Using Windows Explorer, please locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\hoxqdiij.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kmcvtuha.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iieldskh.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\lrnlqocq.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dvricbic.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\System32\pnxjsg.dll

Reboot back into normal mode.

Please open notepad and and copy and paste next bold in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{3964D8D6-86D0-493A-B460-A805B5401114}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{39AA605C-9C1C-51EC-8250-64550DA82B40}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{AE49560A-D4D9-45C8-A573-E2316CEC8A38}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{C6039E6C-BDE9-4de5-BB40-768CAA584FDC}]

Save this as "fix.reg" Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
It should look like this: Posted Image
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.

Please repost with a new Hijackthis log.

Good stuff, did you get that error again when you rebooted?

Please perform this online scan: Kaspersky Webscan
Note that this scanner will only work on Internet Explorer, so please use this browser for the scan.
Read the Requirements and Privacy statement, then select "Accept"
A dialogue box will appearing asking "Do you want to install this software?" Name: kavwebscan_unicode.cab
Select "Install" to download the ActiveX controls that allows ActiveScan to run.
When the download is complete it will say ready, click "Next"
Select a target to scan: Click on "My Computer"
When the scan is complete choose to save the results as "Save as Text"
Post the Kaspersky scan results in your next reply, along with a new Hijackthis log.

Well I've tied all the ways I know to post the Kasperky notepad file. It is to long by itself, as an attachment, and tring to do about 1/2 the file at a time. I will look for what you need if you want or tell me how I can post this file?

Got it! Thanks..

It is a good idea to print off these instructions. There is a possibility some of the instructions will need to be carried out where internet access is not available. It is important that you complete the instructions in the right order, and that you don't miss out any steps.

Download KillBox from the following link :
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php
Unzip the folder to your desktop.

Please find and manually delete this folder:
C:\QooBox

Start Killbox.exe
Select the "Delete on Reboot" option.
Click on the "All Files" button (!important!),which will then flash green.
Copy the complete text in bold below to the clipboard by highlighting the filepaths and pressing Control + C:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\app.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\conjgxff.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\osapffac.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\tbhdsqge.dll

Open 'file' in the killboxmenu on top and choose Paste from clipboard
You must use the file File menu--pasting by right-clicking the mouse will only enter one file.
Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be removed on next reboot and asks if you would like to Reboot now, click "yes".
Click OK at any Pending File Rename Operations prompt, let me know if there appear.
If you don't get that message, reboot manually.
Your computer should reboot now.

After the reboot, hit start > run > and copy and paste the following, then hit enter:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.housecall6.6\Quarantine
A folder will open. Click edit > select all > then hit the delete button. It may take some time..
Remember, you don't want to delete the folder itself, just the contents.

I want you to remove a few infected quarantined files from your Norton Antivirus.
The instructions depend on the version of Norton that you are running
Please visit the following link, and follow the instructions by clicking the on the appropriate version:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.n...000041213443506

We need to purge your infected system restore points.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer, then click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab near the top of the window.
Check Turn off System Restore, click Apply, and then click OK.
More information on how to disable your system restore can be found here.

We want to create a new, clean restore point. Please first reboot your computer.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer, then click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab near the top of the window.
Uncheck "Turn off System Restore", click Apply, and then click OK.

Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools, and select System Restore.
In the System Restore wizard, select the box next the text labeled "Create a restore point" and click the Next button.
Type a description for your new restore point - Something like "After trojan/spyware cleanup".
Click Create, and after it has created the restore point, click "Close".
Further instructions on creating a restore point can be found here

Reboot a final time and post back with a new Hijackthis log.
Also let me know how the system is running...
