System is very slow, after logging in it takes 5-10 minutes to load the network connection icon in the system tray. The system responds to events very late. Tried other postings on this website and installed various softwares like,

1. SmitFraudFix
2. ATF-Cleaner
3. Bulldogs_Security_Suite_v1
4. drweb-cureit (Dr.Web)
5. HijackThisSetup
6. killbox
7. mvc2007us
8. Pareto_AS_Setup248
9. RegSupreme_setup
10. RegSupremePro_setup
11. spybotsd14
12. VundoFix

nothing worked out. Please help. Trend micro says PE_Generic and Trojan_Generic virus found. But none of the above tools really helps. Some of the above like VundoFix and all says trojan removed, but the system is still behaving the same way.

Hope you reply to this soon.

Thanks,
Saneesh Kumar

Hi Saneesh

  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
  • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
