G'day. I will open with a word of wisdom that I heard recently.
It's a cool thing that light travels faster than sound --- that way you can always look good before you open your mouth.
My title at work is Sys Admin, but I'm actually a hack -- in the Windows world, I learn by trial and error. In UNIX, I learn from the man pages and word of mouth. My pet peeve is these old UNIX guys (which I am becoming) who always say, "All you gotta do is..." and it never works like they say it does.
Too often I'll screw something up by saying, "Oh, I can fix it real quick..." I have gone to school, but most of what I've learned is from the man pages and forums.
I have some current, really weird problems that I need help with so, excuse me, I have to go open a forum item.
