What i would like to know is, say I have a batch program, and I want it to run when the computer starts up, BUT only when the disk it is on is inserted..

How would i go about doing this?

SORRY! - Forgot to put this : I am running Windows XP SP2 Build 2600. Im running on either 512/1G Ram, Intel CeleronM, and I plan to run this batch of a Memory Stick, this computer does have USB Boot!

I would transfer the information on the flash drive to a CD, you will need to make this a bootable CD. Set the CD-ROM to be the first device in the boot order, insert the CD and turn on the computer.

If you need help making a bootable CD see this article.

You'll need a program to make the USB stick bootable (my favorite, an HP utility, is no longer available - but a google for bootable flash drive or bootable USB drive will give some suggestions).

Then you'll have to add the file (that you want to launch) to the flash drive, then you'll have to create an autoexec.bat file to automatically launch it when booting from the drive.
