i have a small network at my home consisting of 3 computer and i used to shared the files so that i can get the things that i needed easily from different pc. but there are certain folder that i don't want others to open it. so is there any ways to apply password on to the folder so that it cannot access by the others on the network....i mean one's need to type in password while accessing it through the network and i don't have to type in password on my own pc to access it.

You can restrict access to files/folders on your computers by changing the permissions on them. To do this, right click on the file/folder you want to change the permissions on, and select Properties, then the Security tab. If the Security tab is missing, you'll have to boot into Safe Mode to access it.
