Hello,

Does anyone have any information on how long it takes to receive an e-mail ?

For example, from another country, half a world away, like the Phillipines or Russia, and or how long it takes to get there.

I can't seem to determine this, and I'm just curious.

From my sons military server in S Korea to here in Avondale AZ takes less than 10 seconds.
The name says it all -- 59 and holding permanently

Yeah, email literally "flys" at the speed of light (especially when carried over fibre optics). The distance, whether half-way around the world or next door, has very minimal impact on the movement of the email under normal circumstances.

However, there may be delays at both the sender's email server (checking for virus, malware, spam, etc.) and the receiver's email server (checking for virus, malware, spam, etc.).

Also, once you press "send", even though it gets to your recipients incoming server quickly, it will sit there waiting for them to check for new mail.

Frankfurt, Germany to the west coast of the US timed @ 7.33 seconds at the height of west coast US business hours.

That basically is what I thought, but if you take into consideration other countries, political climates
sometimes change like the weather, I just wanted to keep track of this idea, . .yeah, your right its amazing, its impact, more than likely exceeds our realization .

That is an interesting point, this Tele-Tech is all soaked up into the society and is pretty much taken for granted, that is the way anti-biotics were or still are, they work miracles, stop endless suffering and save lives and are pretty much taken for granted. I don't know if that a good analogy, but yeah photos,
going through the wire or the air. like this thing has been in the labaratory of many scientist for many years.

I think that it's biggest or most notible debut, was in the radiation , if I'm not mistaken, and in around the time of photographic film, then electric light, telephone and moving pictures, . .one thing led to another.

Gota Go.

Nice talking with you I'll Check back. Oh when I get a notification and return and post you in return then get a notification write ?, That is unless some one post after you, or what how does that go ?

Am I thinking clear ? Probably not, I had a some kind of night of it last.
