hi there, someone please help!?!?!?
i got a sophos alert a while ago that i had picked up a trojan, which it quarantined and i deleted, then shortly after i got a mal/ something (i cant remember the name but ive never heard of it b4) which it quarantined, but reqested me to do a full system scan b4 it can be removed. so i did a full system scan and it allowed me to clean the infected but not delete.
ever since, i have been getting CiD popups and my pc has been starting up and closing slower than ever, sometimes freezing or crashing and re-starting whilst logged on and using a program.
i had a problem with CiD popups in the past but was easily able to sort that by start}controll panel}add or remove progs} CiD help, click remove.
this time it isnt there.
i have scanned with sophos, nod32, ad-aware se, no-lop and spybot search and destroy.
nothing finds anything except spybot, which is called `abetterinternet` and it so called fixes it, but nothing changes.
can someone please help a computer noob before he pulls all his hair out? heres my HJT log.....

First make sure all hidden files are showing:
* Click 'Start'.
* Open 'My Computer'.
* Select the 'Tools' menu and click 'Folder Options'.
* Select the 'View' tab.
* Under the 'Hidden files and folders' heading select 'Show hidden files and folders'.
* Uncheck the 'Hide file extensions for known types' option.
* Uncheck the 'Hide protected operating system files (recommended)' option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Download\install 'SuperAntiSpyware Home Edition Free Version' from here:
http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfi...ANTISPYWAREFREE

Launch SuperAntiSpyware and click on 'Check for updates'.
Once the updates have been installed,exit SuperAntiSpyware.

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Stupid Data Dart Wave] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\flag ace stupid data\Way support.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [seek obj fast wave] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Two Idol Wave Flag\Grid One Wma.exe
O16 - DPF: {D4323BF2-006A-4440-A2F5-27E3E7AB25F8} - http://a532.g.akamai.net/f/532/6712/5m/vir...l/installer.exe

Exit Hijackthis.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\flag ace stupid data
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Two Idol Wave Flag

Start SuperAntiSpyware.
On the main screen click on 'Scan your computer'.
Check: 'Perform Complete Scan'.
Click 'Next' to start the scan.

Superantispyware will now scan your computer,when it's finished it will list all/any infections found.
Make sure everything found has a checkmark next to it,then press 'Next'.
Click on 'Finish' when you've done.

It's possible that the program will ask you to reboot in order to delete some files.

Obtain the SuperAntiSpyware log as follows:
Click on 'Preferences'.
Click on the 'Statistics/Logs' tab.
Under 'Scanner Logs' double click on 'SuperAntiSpyware Scan Log'.
It will then open in your default text editor,such as Notepad.

hi again, i followed your instructions word by word but i cant get super antispy to do a complete scan without my pc crashing and restarting or just completely freezing.
the first time it was scanning for 41 mins and was on files section, the second it was scanning for about 5-10 mins and was on registry, the 3rd time it scanned for about 2-3 mins and was on registry and its just done it again, whilst scanning registry after about 2-3 mins.
just before the last scan, i made sure there was no other progs running that i knew of by right clicking the icons in my taskbar system tray and clicking exit on each individual program.(steam,free ram xp,sophos and nod32)
what should i do now ?

You have Sophos Anti-Virus and AVG7 Antivirus installed.
Not a good idea to have more than one antivirus program installed on your computer.
Each program may interpret the actions of the other as viral, therefore giving you false virus warnings about virus-related activities.
It could also lead to system slowdowns and other problems within the operating system,due to the two conflicting with each other.
You should uninstall one or the other as soon as possible,then restart your pc.

Post a new Hijackthis log in your next reply.
Let me know how your pc is running now.

i have just uninstalled nod32 a/v, and kept sophos a/v. i uninstalled avg7 ages ago and i think hjt picked up some crappy folders left over from the uninstallation.
i now only have 1 anti virus prog.
the CiD popups have now stopped after your help with HJT :thumbsup: but my pc still crashes whilst doing a spyware scan with super antispyware, wether this is a hardware issue or not i dont know.
im very gratefull for your help, and would be even more if you could read this new hjt log and leave your opinion.
thanks richie.

First make sure Windows Defender's real-time protection is disabled,as it may interfere.
* Open Microsoft Windows Defender. Click Start>All Programs>Windows Defender.
* Click on 'Tools'>'Options'.
* Under 'Real-time protection options', unselect the 'Turn on real-time protection' check box
* Click 'Save'.

Please download DrWeb-CureIt & save it to your desktop. DO NOT perform a scan yet.

You should copy/print the following because you need to be in Safe Mode from here on.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE" using the F8 method.
To do this,restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
A menu will appear with several options.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Scan with DrWeb-CureIt as follows:
* Double-click on drweb-cureit.exe to start the program. An "Express Scan of your PC" notice will appear.
* Under "Start the Express Scan Now", Click "OK" to start. This is a short scan that will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the Yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it.
* Once the short scan has finished, Click Options > Change settings
* Choose the "Scan tab" and UNcheck "Heuristic analysis"
* Back at the main window, click "Select drives" (a red dot will show which drives have been chosen)
* Then click the "Start/Stop Scanning" button (green arrow on the right) and the scan will start.
* When done, a message will be displayed at the bottom advising if any viruses were found.
* Click "Yes to all" if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
* When the scan has finished, look if you can see the icon next to the files found. If so, click it, then click the next icon right below and select "Move incurable".
(This will move it to the C:\Documents and Settings\userprofile\DoctorWeb\Quarantine folder if it can't be cured)
* Next, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list.
* Save the DrWeb.csv report to your desktop.
* Exit Dr.Web Cureit when done.
* Important! Reboot your computer because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
* After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web in your next reply. (You can use Notepad to open the DrWeb.cvs report)

Also post a new Hijackthis log.

hi again, the CiD pop ups have completely stopped, but when i tried to scan again using super antispyware, it found quite a few problems, then just before it finished scanning my pc froze again. when i tried again, it crashed my pc after scanning for about 1 min.
i really appreciate the help you have given me, and was wondering if there is anything else i can do to get to the bottom of this problem.
p.s. ive remembered the name of the malware warning sophos gave me in the past, it was Mal/Swizzor and the other was Mal/Generic-A.
im not having any pc crash/freeze probs on the other user account, (girlfriends account which isnt used much) but have not tried to scan from there.
if poss, please advise. cheers.

Find and delete:
C:\Documents and Settings\cassle\DoctorWeb\Quarantine

Clear your 'System Restore' points by doing the following:
Right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'.
Select 'System Restore'.
Select 'Turn Off System Restore On All Drives'.
Select 'Apply'.
You will then get the following warning:
"You have chosen to turn off System Restore.
If you continue,all existing restore points will be deleted,and you will not be able to track or undo changes to your computer.
Do you want to turn off System Restore?".
Then select 'Yes',your 'System Restore' directories will be purged.

Restart your pc.

Turn 'System Restore' back on:
Right click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'.
Select 'System Restore'.
Unselect 'Turn Off System Restore On All Drives'.
Select 'Apply',then click 'Ok'.

Whats your pc running like now.
