I haven't seen this one in the forums before. My monitor has spacing problems. The letters are either spaced to close or to far away. It is a 17 inch LCD widescreen. The only thing I have done is to use the auto button. I don't know if this is a software problem, a driver problem or just a bad monitor.

You should know that I don't know much about computers or monitors, so please be specific.

Thank you.

Could you list the make and model of the monitor and how old it is? Have you installed the divers that came with the monitor or the most recent drivers from the internet?

It is an emachines model e17t4w. It cqme with the computer that i have had since May. i haven't found any driver updates

At times when opening a program or webpage the letters may be on top of others. Other times part of a word might be at the left side, with the rest on the right with a lot of space between.

Thank you.

Do you have all of your Windows updates? Sounds like windows is misinterpreting the information it is receiving and displaying it wrong.
Does this happen in all programs or just one or two?

Is it only the letter spacing which is weird? Everything else looks normal?

AS far as I know I have all of the updates. Letter spacing is the only problem. I think it is mostly when I'm on the internet (I am not sure.) Since I got this computer I have spent most of my time on the internet trying to solve problems.

I would suggest trying to download drivers for the monitor and for the video card, it's possible that the default one's on the computer have become corrupted in some way.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Hi, Just wanted to say that I reloaded my driver and it seems to have done the job. It took me awhile to find the right one. I also had issues with my internet (I'm pretty sure that is with my provider.)

Thanks for the help.
