Hi There!

I am trying to completely format my hard drive and re installing windows xp. (Due to a MASSIVE virus infection)

My problem is that when this computer was set up, only one partition was created.

When trying to delete the current partition during the installation process, I receive a message saying that 'windows cannot delete the partition because it contains setup info required for the new installation.'

I am on the point of trowing the whole hard drive away and starting from scratch...

Any advice will be welcomed!

Are you starting the installation by starting the computer with the cd or are you starting to install with windows already running?
The name says it all -- 59 and holding permanently
