You should run a Spyware/Hijacker removal tool like Spybot or Ad-aware. You can find tutorials on how to use these program here:

Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware from Your Computer

and

Using Ad-aware to remove Spyware/Hijackers from Your Computer

Also please Run CWShredder. You can read the tutorial below to learn how to:

How to remove CoolWebSearch with CoolWeb Shredder

Run those programs and fix the found spyware/hijackers. Then post me another log from HijackThis and I will walk you through what else to delete.

principessa, welcome. Anyone that uses an HTML enabled email client these days is open to all kinds of malicious attacks. The setting of email clients to ONLY read messages in plain text is important as the scammer/spammers have learned how to exploit Windows weaknesses.

Installing ALL of MS Critical Updates is mandatory.

Setting Outlook Express to display all messages in plain text is also mandatory.

The use of Incredimail is open to malicious attacks.

I read through it and its pretty crazy stuff. I love the program though. I guess this is one of those times that you need to think of the tradeoff between privacy and using a program that is really great and that I love. Thanks for giving me the warnings...i will try to figure out what I am going to do.

What do you thin of the rest of the items... do i look ok other than that.

Using incredimail after you know the privacy issues is up to you. Neither I or anyone else can determine that for you.

There are only two other items on your HijackThis log that I do not like and if they are not fixed by running spybot and ad-aware should be fixed in hijackthis. Those entries are:

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Userinit.exe
O16 - DPF: {1954A4B1-9627-4CF2-A041-58AA2045CB35} (Brix6ie Control) -

Hope this helps
