My laptop is going nuts.
It got infected with Vundo which was fixed.
Though Nortan was able to tell me that it found the virus it could not actually do a thing about it.
Was able to fix with VundobeGone.
But seems the ordeal is far from over.
Now my network gets disconnected every now and then for no reason whatsoever!
Ran a hijackthis and found few more infections.
Somebody reading this please help me out to put this stuff out of here.
Thanks.
Ravi Bugadikatti.

Attached is the hijackthis log.

Thanks a tonne Richie for taking time to advice me.
Things in my case are better now.
HJT log told me about the malicious entries and i had them hijacked.
Things seems to be much better now.
My laptop does not get hung while shutting down, the CPU utilisation is fine, Network does nt get disconnected,
over all the machin speed has increased incrediably. I ran anothe scan of Norton AV, Adware 6.0 Personal and Hijackthis.
All are clean now!

Hello Richie,

It seems to have been short lived freedom from the annoyance.
Some new problems have now cropped up.
SVCHOST.EXE is now taking up 100% cpu.
Am not able to get windows update.
Though the 70 t0 80 odd updates are identified and downloaded, they never get installed!
Was not able to reach to the microsoft support either, as the explorer gets hung.

All the steps you mentioned have been done.
The combofix log and the hijack this log are attached with this message.
Let me know if you would want to know something else.

Following is the combo fix content:

The CPU consumption looks ok.
But still i am not able to download and install windows updates.
It does not even give any error number with which i can trouble shoot in microsoft site.
Also, during log on, the svchost.exe hogs up 100% cpu.
Not sure if that means anything.

Thanks Richie,
