Hi,
Everytime i start up my computer i get a blue screen of death with the error:

"STOP: c000026c {unable to load device drive}
\Systemroot\system32\drivers\c dr4_2k.sys device driver could not be loaded.
Error status was 0xc0000221

If this is the first..." etc.

Ive tried running the recovery console from the cd, renaming cdr4_2k.sys to .bak and then copying the file from the cd-rom but when i try i get:

COPY does not support wildcards or directory copies.

So im pretty screwed right now, i cant run the computer in safe mode. BUT i can run it in Linux (Ubuntu) so if you have a solution please, oh please help me!

Microsoft has this information regarding the stop message that you have, you need to scroll down towards the bottom of the page.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Has anyone heard of the file cdr4_2k.sys? Is it a replaceable file?
I will need to look for the ERD, but for now if anyone has any other suggestions, please tell.
Thanks dc3.
