I have an Acer Aspire SA85 (Windows XP).

I would like to know if it is safe and/or recommended to remove the following :

* Acer Empowering Technology
* Acer eConsole
* Acer eMode Management
* Acer ePerformance Management
* Acer WLAN 11g USB Dongle

Also, any other advice is appreciated regarding keeping your computer operating as best as possible.

??? I presently run ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite and AdAware 2007 ???

??? For behind the scenes I have XP Repair Pro 2007 which I have never used based on the many bad reports I have read ???

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE !!!

Are they running at start up? Is that why you want to remove them or do you just want to free up some space?

Since you're slowing down at start up try downloading Codestuff Starter It's a simple easy-to-use program to disable programs at start-up. Just remember to research what programs you want to disable. I researched the programs you listed on Acer's site. You might want to do that before you decide to permanently remove them
