Hi there I think I may have a virus or maybe even more. The first thing that happened was I
kept getting this irritating pop up bubble that said my computer was infected with spyware.
When I tried right clicking on it a new browser opened and the site was "Virus Protect Pro" Since
I've done everything on your check list I seem to have gotten rid of this. The 2nd issue doesn't
happen on my user account it only happens on my sons. When he tries to load our securities it
seems to do everything normal, but when you get your cursor anywhere near it, it disappears.
I thought maybe even though the icon disappeared it was possibly still running, but we checked
task manager and it was not running. Any ideas??

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum Pamcq6
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

It appears you've no virus protection installed.
Download\install one of the following freeware options from the choice below.
Once installed update its definitions and then run a full system virus scan.

AVG7 Free Edition Antivirus:
http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup...ree_446a965.exe

Avast! 4 Home Edition:
http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe

Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic
http://www.free-av.com/

------------------------------------------

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

------------------------------------------

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri), to your desktop.
Double click on Smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option 1 Search, by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy and paste the content of that report into your next reply.

*IMPORTANT*
Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Also post a new Hijackthis log.

Hey Richie thanks so much for getting back to me so soon I know you guys are busy. I actually do have anti-virus I had just forgot to turn it back on after I did one of the scans you had listed in your Guide as they weren't compatible andit kept shutting my browser down. I wanted to make sure I did everything listed so I didn't waste too much of your time. Again thanks a bunch & here's everything you asked for:

Hey Richie thanks for getting back to me. Here are the logs you asked for. As far as how the computer is running everything seems to be good on mine but I'm still having problems with my sons user account. When I try and open a browser a script error message box pops up when I try and say no to "do you want to continue running.....?" it freezes although task manager says it's still running. I have script debugging disabled for Internet explorer as well as "other". It does the same thing when I try and open my Telus ecare. The Telus Securities icon is still disappearing when I move my cursor close to it and task manager doesn't have it listed as running. Now you should know my son is (13) and believes his is King of Computer knowledge and does things I'm sure he doesn't know the full affect it will have, so I'm not sure if this is due to him or the viruses. After this is all said and done "King of the Computer" will be getting some pretty stiff parental controls. Thanks again Richie I appreciate all the time you have taken to help me fix this mess up. You're a savior.

I tried several times to copy and past the Kaspersky log to no avail, then I tried it as an attachment and it failed because the file was larger than the available space, plse advice what to do next, thanks.

I actually do have anti-virus I had just forgot to turn it back on after I did one of the scans you had listed in your Guide as they weren't compatible andit kept shutting my browser down.

Turn your antivirus back on now please.

Your log is clean
If all's ok,please do the following.

Find and delete:
Combofix.exe
SmitfraudFix.exe

fix.reg
C:\QOOBOX

but I'm still having problems with my sons user account.
When I try and open a browser a script error message box pops up when I try and say no to "do you want to continue running.....?" it freezes although task manager says it's still running.
I have script debugging disabled for Internet explorer as well as "other".

Try creating a new user account for your son, transfer all his data over to that new account, then delete his old account.

Let me know how you get on.
