I am in a quandry as to why my Windows XP professional is refusing to shutdown (or go to standby).
It does not happen if I just bootup, do a few activities and shutdown. It only seems to happen after a longer session. I suspected an HP driver because at one point windows complained about an HP driver PML Driver HPZ12) not allowing shutdown. I have turned it off in the services section of MSCONFIG, but it has not removed the problem. I also downloaded th latest driver to no avail.
Is there a better way to debug is type of problem other then random shut down of drivers etc. It is very inefficient and subject to perhaps never finding the combination that is causing the hang.
Thx
