Hello,

I stumbled onto this site using google, it definitely seems like one of the best forums for spyware talk & I was wondering if someone can help me with my hijackthis log file.

First thing is I was searching for some info on an old foreign artists for my parents.
I clicked on a link from google that only had a foreign language & immediately that website transformed my Firefox browser into a different one, something like a really old version of IE.
The fonts & size all changed, the colors were different, but it only lasted for 3 seconds before reverting back to normal.
I immediately left the site & I used adware SE personal & Spybot & rebooted my PC.

Later when I was browsing the net, my browser out of nowhere changed to that different style again, but only for a second.
I definetly suspect that I got infected & don't know if there isn't anything more serious.
I'm hoping Hijackthis will fix the problem.

Here is my HijackThis log:

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum wtfer
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

First of all it appears you've no virus protection installed.
Download\install one of the following freeware options from the choice below.
Once installed update its definitions and then run a full system virus scan.

AVG7 Free Edition Antivirus:
http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup...ree_446a965.exe

Avast! 4 Home Edition:
http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe

Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic
http://www.free-av.com/

--------------------------------------------------

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Also post a fresh Hijackthis log please.

Thanks a lot, I finally think my PC is clean.

I'm actually pretty careful to not get any viruses or spyware, but it seems some got through over the years.
SuperAnti Spyware actually picked up quite a few trojans in my system. I have over 8 different Spyware scanners & none of them picked any of those up.

Here is my SuperSpyware log

C:\QOOBOX

In the 'System Restore' window, click on the 'Create a Restore Point' button, then click 'Next'.
In the window that appears, enter a description\name for the Restore Point, then click on 'Create',wait, then click 'Close'.
The date and time will be created automatically.

Next click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Cleanup.
The 'Select Drive' box will appear, click on Ok.
The 'Disk Cleanup for [C:]' box will appear, click on the 'More Options' tab.
At the bottom in the 'System Restore' window, click on the 'Clean up...' button.
A box will pop up 'Are you sure you want to delete all but the most recent restore point?',click on 'Yes'.
