If you suspect that your computer has a virus or other malware, the best place to post about it and to get help is in the "Am I Infected?" Forum; tell us as much as you can about what is happening, what your Anti-virus has done.
Welcome to this friendly user community!

Hello and thank you to all the people who greeted me as a newbie. I am running on XP SP2. I am experiencing a problem getting rid of AVSystemCare. It pops up a lot. It tells me to buy the full version. I understand from browsing the net that it is a virus. My AVG 7.5 Doesn't find it. Spybot doesn't find it. Ad-Aware doesn't find it and lastly, HiJackThis seem to either not find it or I don't recognize it.
Thanks anybody for any help I can get to rid myself of this pest. Pyg200~

I believe that SuperAntiSpyware can remove this. Download and install it, then run the update to ensure you have the latest definitions. Then re-boot into Safe Mode and run a full system scan. Let us know how it goes.

If Super Antispyware doesn't find and remove the rogue, Rogue Remover lists AVsystemcare as one of the programs it will remove. It is free to use.

Thanks to everyone who offered a solution to my AVSystemCare crises. I choose the path of least resistance. Buddy215, the RogueRemover you suggested worked like a charm. In fact it took maybe 7 seconds before it deleted the thing and I've not had one re-occurance since. I think you need to move in with me. LOL! later everyone - Pyg200~
