Installing Without A Internet Connection

can someone maybe help me im trying to install ubuntu linux without a internet connection on my upstairs computer ( which doesnt get internet access yet )

im also trying to install beryl and all of the flashy effects and stuff but im having a hard time finding away to do that without using the internet

can someone post a solution to this problem

Move the computer to where you have an Internet connection... pretty sure that you won't be able to install Beryl until Ubuntu is installed though.

Installing the Ubuntu on the PC can be done without an Internet connection. however all the base repositories are not included on the disk (like Fedora) which is why it only uses most of one CD vs Fedora's whole DVD. You will have to have internet connection to install anything out of the repositories and to update the OS.

You cannot install programs while in LiveCD mode. The OS has to be installed to a Hard Drive first.
