Hello. My PC has been a boat anchor lately and I've had problems with windows explorer. I open explorer and it works fine for about 5 minutes then it completely locks up and I have to kill it through task manager. I was thinking maybe this and the slow performance were related, but maybe not. I thought I would ask the experts. My HJT log is posted below. I've done all the initial steps as suggested before posting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!!

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum milz45
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

-------------------------------------------------

Launch HJThis, click 'Open the Misc Tools Section'.
Click 'Open Uninstall Manager'.
Click on 'Save List',save it to your desktop.
Copy and paste the content of that list into your next reply.

Also post a fresh Hijackthis log.

Richie, thanks so much for looking into this. I've installed and ran combofix. The combofix log is listed below, along with the HJT 'Save List' and a fresh HJT log.

Richie,
I've done all the steps you've suggested. When removing WildTangent I got a message saying there was an error and that it might have already been removed, so I had it removed from the 'Add/Remove' list. FYI After running HJT and reviewing what was listed, none of the items you have listed were there. The SuperAntiSpyware and a new HJT log are listed below. As far as performance, it seems to be better. However I'm still having the issue with windows explorer. I can use it for about 3 minutes and then it just hangs, requiring me to kill it through task manager. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much for your help so far!!!!

Richie,
Here are the results of the Kaspersky scan. I didn't find anything that I can tell. Also, still having the problem with windows explorer. Maybe this is unrelated to spyware, I don't know. What do you think?
Thanks so much,
Milz45

Download the trial version of Spy Sweeper:
http://www.webroot.com/shoppingcart/tryme....&vcode=DT14

Install it using the Standard Install option.
You will be asked for your e-mail address,it's safe to give it.
If you receive alerts from your firewall, allow all activities for Spy Sweeper.

You will be prompted to check for updated definitions, please do so,this may take several minutes so please be patient.

Once the updates have been installed, click on 'Options' and check/enable 'Full Sweep [Reccommended]'.
Click on 'Sweep',then 'Start Full Sweep' and allow it to fully scan your system.

When the sweep has finished, click 'Select All' and then click 'Quarantine Selected'.
Under the 'Summary' tab, select 'View Session Log'.
Click 'Save to File' and save the log to your desktop.

Exit Spy Sweeper.

Restart your pc,then copy and paste the SpySweeper log into your next reply.
Also post a new Hijackthis log.

Richie ... anyone .... help?

I still have the windows explorer freezing problem, but my computer's performance overall seems to be much better. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing the explorer issue??

Thank you!

Copy and paste the following blue text in the Quote box below into Notepad.
Click on File(in the menu at the top)>Save as../Save as Type: 'All Files' /File name: fix.reg to your desktop.
Then double click on the fix.reg file on your desktopPosted Imageand agree to merge the imformation into the registry, then restart your pc.

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"DDCActiveMenu"=-

Lets try the following:
If you have the Norton AntiVirus installation disk, uninstall Norton AntiVirus via Add or Remove Programs.
Restart your pc,then reinstall Norton AntiVirus.

If still no joy try the following.
Disconnect from the internet.
Click Start/Run,type msconfig then press Ok.
Click on the 'Startup' tab.
Uncheck ALL the boxes, then restart your pc.
If the problem now seems to be resolved, start checking the boxes one at a time.
Restart your pc after each.
Using trial and error you should be able to find out which program/process is causing the issue.
