Here is my hijackthis log, I have tried multiple strategies to eliminate this virus, I have ran in safe mode, ran in safe mode with restore turned off, ran many different cocktails virus \ adware removal tools. Please help, I will offer any info you need to get this stuff off of my computer, I have added a personal firewall in the meantime but it still does not help with the pop ups.

Hello,

Hijackthis is still in your temp-folder, so I strongly advise to create a permanent folder and move hijackthis.exe into it. The reason is because hijackthis creates backups and when it's in your temp-folder it can be accidentally deleted.
How do you make a permanent folder:

Click My Computer, then C:\ and then on Program Files.
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis".
Now you have C:\Program Files\HijackThis. Put your HijackThis.exe there.

Then, * Download Combofix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combofix.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished and after reboot (in case it asks to reboot), combofix will open again to gather the necessary information for the log. This may take a bit. When done, Combofix will close and a log should open, combofix.txt.
Post the contents of this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.
Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt - unless I ask you to.

Hi,

Next time, make sure you post the complete Combofix log including headers, because that's also important.

Do next please..

* Open notepad - don't use any other texteditor than notepad or the script will fail.
Copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into notepad:

File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dgmnplkr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xjggjprn.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddeeg.bak2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddeeg.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\geedd.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\srqss.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ppqss.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xybeg.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ehkmp.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gjllm.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jmllm.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lmllm.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\pngwgczA.exe
C:\WINDOWS\pngwgcz.exe

Folder::
C:\VundoFix Backups

Registry::
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{0D90B43E-93A9-43CE-6F88-EDF4BA487CCA}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{2E11B74A-BC7F-4BBE-BDF5-8A47AF0F3690}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{7C344486-DD9A-45A3-A3D5-DA6751DD31D9}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{A4E15D40-C115-4D4C-A1D0-93E08B66B13D}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{DAE3449D-8DED-447C-A342-AED4E3E339D7}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\geedd]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\pmkhe]

Save this as txtfile CFScript

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

Posted Image

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThislog.

Ok,

That worked.

Check and fix next leftover in HijackThis:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Delete the C:\Qoobox folder

Your version of Java is outdated and needs to be updated to take advantage of fixes that have eliminated security vulnerabilities.

Everything is great, Wow, I am really thankfull, I enjoyed the process. I am interested in knowing exactly how you identified the processes, But i am sure that is a time consuming and experience thing. I do have some concerns about some processes communicating through my firewall, I was under the impression that (lsa shell (export version)) was a virus component and it is still running and trying to communicate, alos i have another new application trying to communicate and it is call Application layer gateway service can you shed some light as to what these are?

Hi,

I do have some concerns about some processes communicating through my firewall, I was under the impression that (lsa shell (export version)) was a virus component and it is still running and trying to communicate

Don't worry, this is lsass.exe, genuine proces: http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/lsass.exe.html
In your case, we are talking about the genuine lsass.exe as I don't see any other one running in your processes in the HijackThislog.

alos i have another new application trying to communicate and it is call Application layer gateway service can you shed some light as to what these are?

The Application Layer Gateway service aka alg.exe is also a genuine process. http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/alg.exe.html

Don't worry about them, just allow through your firewall.

I am interested in knowing exactly how you identified the processes

Actually this is mainly a matter of experience and a lot of research/analysis. When we deal with similar logs daily, after a while it's easy to figure out which are the good and the bad ones and how to deal with it. If I see something new, I collect samples, analyse it, see how it acts and then I can give proper instructions how to get rid of it in the easiest way. In your case, I've already "played" with this infection before, so I know how it acts and how to deal with it :thumbsup:

Glad I could help. :flowers:
