My computer is infected with a trojan vundo virus. Symantec anti virus keeps giving me the following message: Scan type: Realtime Protection Scan
Event: Virus Found!
Virus name: Trojan.Vundo
File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtst.exe
Location: Quarantine
Computer: MELINALAP
User: Melina
Action taken: Clean failed : Quarantine succeeded : Access denied
Date found: Tue Jul 24 18:54:52 2007

and quarantines the item but as soon as i remove the item from quarantine it keeps coming back and in different files within system32.

I have followed all of the instructions that you have recomended before posting this hijackthis log and have also tried using symantec fix vundo tool, vundofix and virtumundo but none of these tools have removed the virus.

Here is the hijack this log....hope you are able to help

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum melinaranalli
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Also post a fresh Hijackthis log please.
