System Restore In Windows Xp

Hi All!
I am running Windows XP Professional and cannot turn on System Restore it returns a "System restore encountered an error trying to enable/disable one or more drives. Please restart your machine and try again" - this does not work. The right click button on the mouse stops responding sporadically.
I am attaching a Hijack this! log file.
