Hi all
Now my daughter is safely settled in Berkeley, we are "talking" most nights on MSN messenger. She has just bought a microphone with webcam, and I can now see her as she types. We can hear each other with Skype, but there is too much of a delay and breaking up of the message for it to be usable (probably because I am on dialup) so we tried to use the audio feature of MSN - but no sound whatsoever.
Do I need to do something else ? Alowing MSN server rights in ZA for example? I haven't got anything with server rights at present, not even Skype.

I think we are going to get broadband here at home soon, but until then I'd be grateful if anyone could help - I'm probably doing something very silly, or not doing something obvious and essential!

(I have also lost the toolbar I used to have at the top of my desktop, indicating microphone status - don't know where that has gone!)

Thank you very much

Luci2a

oops - toolbar reappeared, whilst fiddling with the speech controls! Still would be grateful for help on the main problem though. Thanks!
