Hi,

I am currently running IE7 Beta 2 ver. 7.0.5346.5

I have tried upgrading to IE7 a couple of times now using the windows update website.

The issue is this. The whole thing downloads and after following all the instructions, the installation fails at the last minute.

I got a webpage on my desktop with instructions from microsoft, but none of it is helpful.

Please advice. (or is it ok to continue running Beta?)

I apologise if i didnt refer to any previous post with the same problem. Tried looking, couldnt find any.

cheers,

Amit

Hi amitinoz,

First you should uninstall IE7 Beta 2 via Add and Remove Programs.
If you are unable to remove it in Add and Remove Programs, follow the instructions in this Micro$oft KB Article: You cannot uninstall Windows Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2.
Also read;
Uninstalling IE7

Then download and install Internet Explorer 7.
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

If you uninstall IE7 beta, the system will revert back to IE6
The name says it all -- 59 and holding permanently

You will only be uninstalling IE7 Beta2, which should then revert back to IE6.

Once the IE7 Beta2 is uninstalled, then download and install IE7 from the link in post #2

*Important*
Be sure to read and follow the instructions in the "LATEST INFORMATION" link at the top of the page in the Uninstalling IE7 link:
Internet Explorer 7.
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

I am the proud daddy of a new IE7.

I had to go via the DWORD registry change to finally be able to uninstall IE7 Beta. Even the uninstall tool download from MS didnt work.

This one looks and runs much better than the beta version...to think i had been missing out for quiet a while!!

Thank you for all the help. It is much appreciated.

Cheers
