I was hoping the same thing JSKY! I went through the list and said where is custom computer?

I prefer out of all of them HP or Compaq(now one company). I have had good times with my compaq laptop and my HP laptop. They are well built and have good reviews over DELL. I was thinking of a dell until I read reviews about it.

I vote for Home Builds. :flowers: Dude, I ain't getting a Dell! Though i am forced to use one at work. Not that there's anything wrong with these systems (very very proprietary) but if i need tech support, i know that i can get "award winning service" from me, and i have no one to blame if anything goes wrong.

Well shucks, fellas. My vote is now obvious, lol.

I can take a tower apart, dust it well, replace that little battery, clean my mouse, clean my keyboard, clean my monitor...ok that's where my skills end, lol. Ain't no way I could put one together.
My only experience lies with Sony, IBM, and HP. So I had to basically choose from what I know, which is what a poll is all about, usually.

Nice poll idea. Interesting to see the results but this question has been asked before and the results were the same. About 96% chose home built in that one too.

Dude, I ain't getting a Dell!

TOO FUNNY! I've heard too many horror stories about Dell and Gateway. I'll pass.

Actually, my wife has a Gateway laptop. We live about 30 miles from a Gateway store. I dunno about the rest of you, but i can't build a laptop from scratch. I'll be forced to buy laptops and PDAs (I own a Palm Tungsten T5) from companies, but i'll stay with custom for home pcs. Any opinions on ITX small form factor cases? I'm thinking of that for my next build.

"Home Built" ...is my choice for favorite.

ditto. If you had asked "which of these (desktop) brands suck the least?" or "which of these would you recommend to a relative so you wouldn't have to deal with their computer issues?" I would have voted dell. ;)

Down in the bayou, Bubba called an attorney and asked, "Is it true they're suin' the cigarette companies for causing people to get cancer?
"Sure is Bubba. But why you asking?"
"Cause what I want to know is, I was thinking, can I sue Budweiser for all them ugly women I've slept with?"

:trumpet: OMG Where oh where is Acer? :inlove: Go ahead and laugh. I will be laughing along with you. Seriously though this 'ol dinosaur has taken me far and wide. I will not look a gift horse (dinosaur) in the mouth.

Seriously though. I may be in the market real soon for a new one. What would go with a DELL 1504FP Monitor? Or does it matter?

BTW My Acer is powered by Intel Inside pentium. Shrug :flowers:

So I voted Intel. But what do I know? Lol Not much.

Well scarlet before I buy anything especially a computer or something expensive I always read reviews on what others have said.

This would have saved me 200.00 if I would have found it sooner...

Please go here I haven't looked up your monitor but it should be there.
http://www.epinions.com

Hope you will find your monitor. I have read a few bad things about Dell monitors though.

I have a no name brand monitor (MGC) and its 6 or 7 years old. I would like a new LCD monitor dell or not but the prices are way to much for a monitor.

Hope this helps some.

Woops...I read it wrong maybe.

A hard drive really has nothing to do with a monitor. Are you saying you want to put a bigger HD on your system?

I can help on that I just put together a whole system lol. Still got a few parts to install though...
