Hello yet again BC! I recently put my computer on Standby. When I came back 30 minutes later, I got a lot of scary command line errors, so I slammed on the POWER button and rebooted the computer into Ubuntu. When I do this, I get these messages:

Starting up ...
Loading, please wait ...
kinit: name_to_dev_t(/dev/disk/by-uuid-292cc904-2e52-4fb5-acd3-e4ebe0ebec12) = sda(8,5)
kinit: trying to resume from /dev/disk/by-uuid-292cc904-2e52-4fb5-acd3-e4ebe0ebec12
kinit: no resume image, doing normal boot ...

Ubuntu 7.04 (none) tty1

(none) login: [I enter my login]
password: [I enter my password]

After entering those in, I get flooded with:

-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
-bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
and so on...

HELP!! Thanks

Well, I found out that I could back up my files through the Live CD (I LOVE LINUX! :D), and my system seemed pretty botched. I'd still like to know how in the world this happened - Standby seems so innocent!
I'm now kinda curious about other distributions. I'll have to check um out.
