Ive noticed that this drive seems to need to be defragmented every couple of days - is that normal ? Is it because of the perpendicular technology ? all I do is play a couple of games on my pc and dl and burn movies off of my mini DV palmcorder. I used to defrag my old Dell once a month and even then it would say that I didnt need to defrag, but this hard drive says I need to defrag it every other day. Whats up with that?

Fragmentation has nothing to do with the hard drive technology. It is a result of the file system and how you use the computer. A lot of creating deleting and changing of files will cause fragmentation.
