I am having a devil of a time removing this infection. Having followed the instructions, I find that Spybot S&D persistently returns an entry for Zlob.DNSchanger, even after "fixing" it several times. The symptoms are that Google search results are redirected to all kinds of sites other than the ones listed on the page. After a few tries, eventually the search results do let to the correct site.

I have also manually deleted some of the offending registry keys. They were in the form of:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{54C19ED0-CC85-4A12-83D2-2EDBEA66D612}\NameServer=208.67.220.220,208.67.222.222

I also discovered that somehow the option on my Network Connections for Obtaining DNS servers automatically had been overridden to go to the addresses listed in the registry key above. I fixed that, and that particular fix seemed to stick, but my search results are still being redirected and Spybot continues to return the Zlob entry.

Hi. Sorry to be away from this so long. I thought I would get an e-mail when a reply was posted, but I see I failed to check the box for that.

I think I managed to fix the problem myself (at least the symptoms went away), but I'll follow the instructions just to be sure. Thanks for your help.
