What this programs does: Ultra Antivirus 2009 is an exact clone of the rogue anti-spyware program named Micro Antivirus 2009. In fact, they are so similar that the programmers forgot to remove references to MicroAV in the programs various screens and pop-ups as shown in the images below. Ultra Antivirus is advertised via Trojans that display fake security alerts and messages on your computer stating that it is infected. These Trojans will then download and install Ultra Antivirus 2009 on to your computer. Once installed, it will be configured to start automatically when Windows starts. Once started, it will scan your computer and list a variety of malware that cannot be removed unless you first purchase the program. The main goal of all rogue programs, including Ultra Antivirus, is to coerce you into purchasing their software. To do this, Ultra Antivirus will list a variety of infections on your computer when it performs a scan. These infections are either fake or are the actual Trojans that installed it in the first place. While running, the program will also display fake security alerts stating that your under attack and that you should purchase Ultra Antivirus 2009 in order to protect your computer. All of these methods are just an attempt to scare you into thinking you are infected and that you should purchase Ultra Antivirus.
