How to remove Security Scanner 2008 (Uninstall Instructions)Posted by Grinler on September 18, 2008 @ 10:43 AM · Views: 3,279
What this programs does: Security Scanner 2008 is a program that at first glance looks like a legitimate anti-malware scanner. It scans your computer, alerts you when an infection is found, and prompts you to remove them. In order to remove infections you first need to purchase the program, but that is not uncommon among some vendors. What makes Security Scanner 2008 a rogue, though, is that the infections it finds are all false positives. That means it finds legitimate programs on your computer and states that they are malware. The reason that rogue programs do this is to scare you into purchasing their software. They are not here to actually protect you, but rather to make a buck and will use any method, including fraud, to do so. It is for using these tactics that we classify Security Scanner 2008 as a rogue anti-spyware program.
