What this programs does: MS AntiSpyware 2009 is a rogue anti-spyware program from the same family as NanoAntivirus and Pro AntiSpyware 2009. MS AntiSpyware is advertised through the use of Trojans that display fake security alerts stating that you are infected and that you should install MS AntiSpyware 2009 in order to protect yourself. If you click on one of these alerts, the program will download and be installed on your computer. Once installed, MS AntiSpyware will be configured to start automatically, and when started, will automatically scan your computer. When the scan is complete it will show results that state you have a variety of infections on your computer that cannot be removed unless you first purchase the program. These infections, though, are all fake and are only being shown in order to scare you into thinking you are infected and thus having you purchase the software. When the program is running, it will also display a fake Windows Security Center screen that states that Windows recommends that you purchase a license of MS AntiSpyware 2009. You will also occasionally see alerts stating that your computer has serious infections and that you should install purchase MS AntiSpyware. All of these alerts and fake screens are being shown for one reason; to scare you into purchasing the software. Please ignore these warnings and instead use the free removal guide below.
