Route

The term Route refers to a specific entry in a router that tells the router how to transmit the data it receives.

All routers have a default route that specifies all data that it receives should be sent always to a specific location. By entering in other specific routes, you can override how your data is sent out, so it is not necessarily sent via the default route.
